In a grand gesture of devotion, Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of IPL team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, donated 5.267 kilograms of gold ornaments worth RS. 3.63 crore to the Tirupati Balaji Temple on May 16, 2025.
The gold ornaments were specially crafted and include “Kati” and “Varada Hasthams”, which are designed for Lord Venkateswara’s idol. These ornaments are not only made of pure gold but also decorated with precious diamonds and gemstones, making them both spiritually and artistically valuable.
Mr. Goenka, along with his family, visited the temple and handed over the donation in a traditional ceremony held at the Ranganayakula Mandapam inside the temple premises. He expressed his feelings on the occasion by saying,
“Truly blessed to have a divine darshan at Tirupati Devasthanam today.”
