Before the Tri-Nation T20I series starts later this August, Sharjah authorities are making sure everything is calm and peaceful, especially for the Pakistan-Afghanistan match.
These matches get intense and officials don’t want any trouble like what has happened before where fans got out of control. Tensions between the two countries, during and after the matches, have led to clashes among supporters and sometimes serious injuries.
To avoid this, the authorities are setting up separate seating areas for Pakistani and Afghan fans. They want to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable as the matches are going to be packed. Tickets will be sold based on nationality so fans will have assigned seating throughout the tournament.
The stadium has a capacity of 16,000 and is going to be full of Pakistani and Afghan supporters. Pakistan and Afghanistan have played 7 T20 matches so far and Pakistan has won 4 and Afghanistan has won 3.
