BCCI reacquired T Dilip as India’s fielding coach for a year upon his earlier release. This coach, along with Abhishek Nayar, was part of the coaching team that the board released in April. Nayar has since returned to the KKR, but Dilip did not enter the IPL circuit and instead resumed work with the national side.
Dilip first began as a fielding coach under Rahul Dravid, who left the team after the 2024 T20 World Cup. When Gautam Gambhir was appointed, Dilip was the only key member from Dravid’s staff that the BCCI retained. He was part of the coaching staff in India’s victorious campaign in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Dilip is famous in Indian cricket circles for having introduced medals for the Fielder of the Match award during the 2023 ODI World Cup.
