The world No. 1 ODI team chased down the target of 242 runs in just 42.3 overs at a cost of four wickets, thanks to Kohli’s hundred in 111 balls.
Pakistani fans had hoped for a match-winning ter-three from Shaheen, Rauf, and Naseem. Shaheen kept 2 wickets but gave away 74 runs in 8 overs, while Rauf and Naseem remained wicketless.

Shaheen was the hero of Pakistan’s 10-wicket win against India in the T20 World Cup match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 24, 2021. In that match, the left-arm pacer took the wickets of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli, restricting India to 151/7 in 20 overs. Ever since, Shaheen has failed to collect another wicket against India.
In the 2022 T20 World Cup group match against India and in the 2023 ODI World Cup league match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14, 2023, he appeared to be lost.
