The fourth match of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 will be played on October 3, with England Women and South Africa Women facing off at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The match will start at 3:00 PM IST, paving the way for an exciting battle between two great rivals.
For England, 2025 has been a bumpy road. Following a 0-3 drubbing in the Ashes in January, they bounced back really well by 3-0 against the West Indies. The inconsistency arrived against India, though, as they lost the series 1-2 despite having massive success in the middle contest. The practice matches, however, spoke volumes, with them crushing India by 152 runs and chasing 248 against Australia, showing not just depth in the batting department but also a very good bowling unit.
This one, however, took much amounts of grit and determination for South Africa. Their Tri-Nation Series against India and Sri Lanka came down to just one win out of four games, but then they surely went and came back from the deficit to take the Caribbean on a 2-1 win. During the Pakistan tour in September, they took the series after back-to-back wins but lost the last ODI.
Warm-up matches brought varying fortunes: the opening fixture got washed out, but the team was able to gather momentum by holding on for a 4-wicket win against Pakistan in their second outing.
