In the latest happenings, the BCCI is treating the women players at par with the men’s team and has also announced a staggering amount of Rs. 51 crores as the prize money for the Indian girls. When is the victory parade of India for the World Cup win
In the latest happenings, a report by IANS said that BCCI official Devajit Saikia confided in them and disclosed that the parade will be held after the ICC meeting. The meeting, which is going to take place in Dubai from the 4th to the 7th of November, Saikia has already departed for.
The BCCI secretary said that returning the Asia Cup trophy with complete honours is the highest priority and the victory parade will be after that. Therefore, it is safe to say that the eagerly awaited bus ride will happen after November 7.
“Nothing like a victory parade is planned for now. I am off to Dubai for the ICC meeting. Many officials are going there too. So, when we come back, we will plan accordingly,” Saikia told IANS while speaking from Mumbai airport.
What is the Asia Cup issue?
It is important to mention that right after the Asia Cup win, the ACC president Mohsin Naqvi deserted the situation together with the trophy and is currently not willing to surrender it. Therefore, the board has lodged a formal complaint against Naqvi with the ICC, and the matter will be discussed at the next ICC meeting in Dubai.
