Tonight will see the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) come up against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 58th match of this season’s Indian Premier League. Led by Rajat Patidar, RCB stands on the threshold of entering the playoffs, and a win tonight will ensure their place.
Australian fast bowler, Josh Hazlewood, went a long way in picking wickets for RCB before the league suspension, with 18 wickets in ten innings and a supreme strike rate. He was magnificent against the likes of Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals. Sadly, he injured his shoulder and sat out RCB’s last game just before the break, recovering in Brisbane and may yet link up with the team ahead of the playoff starting on the 29th. RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, said that Hazlewood hasn’t come back to India yet, so he’s probably going to miss the match against KKR in Bengaluru.

Riding on Lungi Ngidi’s wings came the replacement for Hazlewood’s injury. If Ngidi’s not available because of international commitments, RCB might even see Nuwan Thushara joining Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yash Dayal among the pacers. On the spinning front, Krunal Pandya would likely lead the two alongside Suyash Sharma.
