The new edition of FIFA Club World Cup will begin on June 15 and conclude on July 14. The tournament has a new format. Earlier, seven teams from as many continents used to play against each other over the period of 11 days. However, the new format mirrors the old FIFA World Cup and UEFA Champions League format. For those who are not aware, 32 teams used to play in the World Cup and Champions League.
The upcoming World Cup 2026 will see 48 teams battling for the coveted title. On the other hand, last year, 36 teams were included in the Champions League. Meanwhile, talking about the format of the Club World Cup, 32 teams will battle out for the title in the United States of America for 30 days. These teams are divided into eight groups of four each.
The top two teams from every group will qualify for the Round of 16 knockouts, followed by Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and the Final.
