Mohammed Siraj’s rise in international cricket is nothing short of a Bollywood movie. Coming from a humble background, the Hyderabadi pacer displayed his potential in domestic cricket.
And within two years, Siraj’s fortunes changed as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) signed him for IPL 2017. The next season, he moved to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and emerged as the leader of their pace attack in the seasons to come.

Early Debut in IPL Career
Mohammed Siraj made his debut in the IPL on April 19, 2019. He represented Sunrisers Hyderabad against Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals).
Siraj started his IPL career by picking up his maiden wicket on his first over. He dismissed one more batter, helping SRH win the match by 15 runs. Siraj finished the match with figures of two for 39 in four overs.
The right-arm seamer continued his form in the next matches, though he was a bit expensive in his spells. Siraj featured in six games in his debut season and picked up ten wickets.

Mohammed Siraj Performance in IPL 2024
Mohammed Siraj’s performance in the IPL 2024 season was decent. He was RCB’s joint wicket-taker in the season, taking them to the playoffs. Siraj picked up 15 wickets in 14 matches.

Mohammed Siraj last played in the IPL on May 22, 2024. He appeared in the 2024 Eliminator between RCB and Rajasthan Royals.
Siraj bowled well during RCB’s unsuccessful defence of the 173-run target. He grabbed two wickets in an over, adding a twist to the game. But it wasn’t enough, and Siraj ended up with figures of two for 33 in four overs.

Mohammed Siraj IPL Auction Price & History:
Mohammed Siraj’s natural ability to swing the ball and bowl quick bouncers earned him a winning bid from Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017. The franchise bought him for INR 2.60 crore ahead of the IPL 2017 season.
SRH didn’t retain him for IPL 2018 and Siraj found a new home in Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB signed the pacer at the same price.
Ahead of the 2022 season, RCB retained the services of Siraj and increased his pay to INR 7 crore.
