Steve Smith Test Centuries Against India
The right-hand batter scored his first Test century against India back in 2014. It was the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2014-15 in Adelaide.
Batting at No. 5, Smith scored an unbeaten 162 from 231 balls, helping Australia declare the first innings on 517 and eventually win the match by 48 runs. He slammed three more centuries in the series while standing in as skipper in the absence of Michael Clarke.
Smith’s 192 in Melbourne during the same series is his personal best score against India in Test cricket.
When the Australian batter toured India in 2017, he showed his class on the turning tracks. He racked up three hundreds in the 4-match BGT series.
Smith’s ninth Test century against India came in a crucial encounter in 2023. Both teams were squaring off in the 2023 World Test Championship final at The Oval, where his 121-run knock proved to be a game-changer as Australia won the WTC mace.

Steve Smith ODI Centuries Against India
In addition to his Test tons, Smith has also smashed five triple-digit figures against India in ODI cricket. His first ODI hundred against the Men in Blue came in 2015, as he scored 105 in the semi-final of the 2015 World Cup. He took 89 balls to raise his century, smashing 11 fours and 2 sixes.
Smith’s best ODI performance against India came in 2020 when he opened the year with a 131-run knock in Bengaluru. The right-hander rounded up the year with back-to-back centuries in Sydney, helping Australia win the three-match series by 2-1.
