Ahmedabad-based team, Gujarat Titans (GT) have a young history in the IPL. They made their debut in 2022 and went onto win the title in their debut. They became the second team to do so after Rajasthan Royals (2008). In the three seasons that the Titans have participated so far, apart from winning in 2022, they played the final in the following year.
Last year, however, they finished eighth with only five wins out of 14 games. This time around, the former champions would like to get back the consistency which they had in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Meanwhile, in this listicle, let’s have a look at four probable overseas players that will play for the Blue Brigade in the upcoming season.
Four overseas players that will play for GT
1. Jos Buttler
The former Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals player has been picked up by the Titans. For the 2008 winners, Royals, the right-hander used to open the batting. The T20 World Cup 2022 winning captain also keeps wickets for England which makes him a first-choice keeping option in the team. Buttler has played 107 games and has 3582 runs to his name including seven hundreds.
2. Glenn Phillips/Rashid Khan
Both the former Sunrisers Hyderabad players will play for Gujarat although Khan has been part of the team since 2022. Phillips has joined the team only this year. However, only one of them will get to play although it will be a tough decision to leave one of them out. Phillips is a fantastic fielder and also does well with the bat and ball. On the other hand, Khan is a proven T20 bowler who can bat as well.

3. Gerald Coetzee
The South Africa pacer made his name in international cricket during the ODI World Cup 2023. He picked 20 wickets in eight games although this was his first international tour. Coetzee was picked by MI last year but wasn’t utilized enough. Expect the team management of GT to utilize his skills in the upcoming season.
4. Kagiso Rabada
Another South Africa pacer has made it into the Titans team. He has previously played for Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings and the best highlights of his IPL career came during his stint with the 2020 finalists. Rabada won the Purple Cap in the 2020 season. After joining the Kings, he had diminishing returns although he was not utilized properly but expect GT to go against the pattern.
