The MCA seeks to take some unconventional steps, including the launch of an organized graduation course for cricketers in association with Mumbai University and sending youngsters on exposure tours to the United Kingdom.
The MCA also decided to restart their T20 Mumbai League from May 27, almost six years after it was last held in 2019.
MCA’s others’ major plan is to launch a graduation program for cricketers.
“The program will concentrate on the practical training aspect so as to ensure young cricketers receive proper hands-on experience. The initiative aims at making sure the budding cricketers are properly trained to meet professional standards on the field basis and would also receive academic qualifications,” said the MCA press release.
MCA’s initiative will identify and take relevant emerging young talent on tours to the UK.
The plan is expected to provide the players with invaluable experience in international-playing conditions and competitive matches against high-order opposition.
“The value of exposure is enormous for the player in their development and preparation against future challenges at higher levels,” the cricket body said.
