On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, India will meet Australia in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy. From 2:30 PM IST, the match between the two star-studded teams will be held at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Whereas Australia came second in Group B with one victory and two ties, India topped Group A points table by winning all three games. Although its second game against South Africa on February 25 was cancelled in Rawalpindi due to rain, the Aussies beat England by 5 wickets in the first game played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 22. Aussies suffered in the second half of the last Group B game against Afghanistan since rain also marred it.
Since their showdown in the ODI World Cup 2023 final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the match on Tuesday in Dubai will be the first 50-over competition between the two sides. Led by Pat Cummins, the team won the sixth title by defeating India six wickets in the match played November 19, 2023.
India’s squad will be eager to avenge that loss on Tuesday and secure a spot in the Champions Trophy final for the third consecutive edition; the Men in Yellow will be hoping to snap India’s six-game win streak and advance to yet another ICC event final.
