Rohit Sharma has absolutely stated he is not going from ODI cricket. As the two struck photographs and reveled in the greatness of their Champions Trophy 2025 victory on Sunday evening in Dubai, India’s captain was not feeling like to let the gossipmongers off lightly during a conversation with his teammate, Virat Kohli.
Social media is abuzz with a video in which unfiltered Rohit is supposedly informing Kohli that everyone believes they will retire from ODIs when they actually will not.
“Right now we’re not retiring any one.” In the video where Rohit departs Kohli in laughter, he says, ” *. we aren’t retiring.

In India, Rohit and Kohli have the most ICC titles as players; they have four each.
Indian squads including Kohli won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and 2011 ODI World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy in 2025, and 2024 T20 World Cup. Rohit, on the other side, took the 2007 World T20, 2013 and 2025 Champions Trophy, and the 2024 T20 World Cup.
As captain, Kohli also won the ICC U19 World Cup.
India’s top scorer was Rohit, who made 76 off 83 to drive down the New Zealand final target of 252. The 37-year-old took player-of-the-final award for his play.
It’s really good. Rohit said during the post-match presentation: “We played some really good cricket whole through the tournament; to come out here and have the result our way is a great feeling, very very happy with how we played this game,&ame.
Rohit has developed in the twilight of his career an attacking batting that frequently sets the innings’ tone.
Still, it it not a characteristically present element of his game.
Though not natural to me, it is something I really wanted to do; when you are attempting to do something different you require the support of the team and of the management, which they were right throughout with me. This is what I spoke to Rahul bhai in the ODI World Cup, too; he was really quite okay with it, and now Gauti bhai as well. It’s all about getting also the management’s support and that of the team,” he stated.
