The Lanka Premier League is all set to captivate cricket fans and all sports enthusiasts with its fifth edition in the series. The LPL 2024, is the twenty-over format cricket which is organized and managed by the Sri Lanka Cricket.
This year LPL 2024, The fifth edition of the tournament, will feature 5 prestigious franchise teams that will be seen competing in the round-robin format in the first 20 Matches in the league series and then the top four teams will go to the knockout/ playoff matches

Scheduled from July 1 to July 21, 2024, the LPL promises intense competition as teams vie for supremacy, building on the success of previous seasons. With matches hosted at iconic venues like R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla, and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, the tournament is poised to showcase top-tier cricketing talent and entertainment.
Sri Lanka is all set to welcome all the members of the five teams and is making each and every effort to make this event successful. The player auction for the same tournament occurred on 21 May 2024, where Matheesha Pathirana became the auction’s most expensive player to be picked when Colombo Strikers bought him for a record price of $120,000.

Lanka Premier League, 2024: Venue, Capacity and Matches
The whole of the Lanka Premiere League would be contested in Sri Lanka. A total of three venues have been fixed for the whole of the tournament league, where all 24 matches will take place in these stadiums. The three venues for the upcoming LPL 2024 will be R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla, and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, as reported by a source.
The R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo has a capacity of 35,000 spectators and will host 10 matches. Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla, with a capacity of 16,800, is scheduled to host 8 matches. Meanwhile, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, also with a capacity of 35,000, will host 6 matches during the tournament.
Lanka Premier League, 2024: Semi-Finals and Finals
After competing in the League stage, in 20 matches the top four placed teams of the table will make it to the play-offs where the two Qualifier and 1 eliminator match will take place. On 18th July 2024, one eliminator and one Qualifier match will take place. The looser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator would have a face-off on the 20th of July in Qualifier 2 in Colombo, then the winner of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Qualifier would lock horns to get titles as the ultimate winners of the fifth edition of the League.
