An IPL 2025 match had a dramatics exchange between Abhishek Sharma and Digvesh Singh on Monday night at Ekana Cricket Stadium. The back-and-forth escalated to a level where the umpires and few players from Sunrisers Hyderabad had to intervene.
What began the drama? Abhishek was having a smashing day batting, registering a fair 50 while chasing a target in excess of 200 runs. He was on 59 off 20 balls when it was Digvesh’s turn to bowl. He was caught out by Shardul Thakur at sweeper cover, and Digvesh’s celebration came in the form of a classic notebook gesture, which Abhishek did not appreciate and, in fact, reacted quite aggressively, alerting Digvesh to possible retaliation.
Immediately most of the LSG players and captains Rishabh Pant and debutant Will O’Rourke tried to separate the two, on this conflict. SRH finally won the match by six wickets, knocking LSG out of playoff contention. Later, the BCCI Vice President, Rajeev Shukla, had to intervene again to restore calm.

Abhishek was declared Player of the Match later and said, “Now, the real thing is all fine between him and me; I spoke to him after the game, and it is all good now.” SRH and LSG had a disappointing season, not making the playoffs; SRH played the finals last year, while LSG parted ways with their former captain KL Rahul after a terrible season.
