Salman Butt, the ex-Pakistan cricketer, has questions about India’s decision to pull out of the match against Pakistan in the World Championship of Legends. He asks if India is so against playing Pakistan then why do they meet in ICC tournaments?
The veterans’ cricket match between India and Pakistan in Birmingham was called off on Sunday, July 20. Indian cricketers like Shikhar Dhawan didn’t want to play because of the Pahalgam terror attack that happened three months ago. The tournament started on July 18 in Birmingham and will end on August 2.
Butt spoke on his YouTube channel, “The world is watching and what message are they sending to cricket and the fans?” He questions their motives and says they shouldn’t play against Pakistan in the World Cup or any ICC tournament and stick to this decision.
Butt says everything has its place but now they’re connecting the dots and they shouldn’t play against Pakistan at any level, even the Olympics. He wants to see them do that.
Butt says he doesn’t get their mindset and wonders who made the decision. He believes the 4-5 people who decided not to play put pressure on others who wanted to play.
Butt says Pakistan won’t forget India’s actions at the World Championship of Legends and will bring up their nationalism if they change their stance in ICC tournaments.
