Woakes bowled a short ball and Jaiswal tried to defend it. The ball hit the top of the bat and the handle broke. Jaiswal had to switch to a new bat. Both the Indian batsmen have been patient, waiting for opportunities to score, keeping the scoreboard ticking.
England won the toss and chose to field first. India made three changes to their team. Sai Sudarshan, Shardul Thakur and Anshul Kamboj are playing instead of Karun Nair, Akashdeep and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
