Ashwin said that Anshul Kamboj bowled faster in the IPL than in the 4th Test against England in Manchester. He questioned Kamboj’s fitness as India was on the verge of losing the game and the series.
Kamboj had a bad start on the first day but finished well by taking his first wicket, Ben Duckett. Kamboj had a big role to play as India’s main bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were not at their best. He ended the day with 1/89 in 18 overs. Kamboj struggled with the second new ball and asked Dhruv Jurel to stand close to the stumps.
I praised Anshul Kamboj yesterday but I have to say his bowling speeds were so low, I was surprised. I hope he is okay because he was bowling faster than this in the IPL, Ashwin said on his YouTube channel. He looked like he was struggling. The only answer to bowling injuries and inefficiency is to create a bigger pool of bowlers, Ashwin added.
