Bangladesh Shift T20I Training Camp to Sylhet Ahead of Netherlands Series 2025

The Bangladesh team’s  camp for the T20I series against Netherlands has been shifted from Dhaka to Sylhet. The three matches will be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium to prepare for the Asia Cup.

The camp will start on August 6 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. Trainer Nathan Keily will handle fitness training before they move to Sylhet for skill work. The Netherlands team will arrive around August 14.

BCB Cricket Operation Chairman Nazmul Abedin spoke to the reporters at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

The camp will start in Dhaka on August 6. Everyone’s coming and we’re starting with fitness. Before skill training we’re moving the camp to Sylhet. The coaches will be here around 11th, 12th or 13th. Skill training will start when the coaches arrive but that part of the camp will be in Sylhet, he told the reporters.

Abedin said, We want to move the camp to Sylhet. The team will train there for a few days. Then we’re playing the series against Netherlands there.

Bangladesh’s head coach Sohel Islam thinks cultural things affect the team’s batting problems.

I think our culture matters a lot, especially how we see players. In India, domestic cricket is really competitive. Scoring a hundred or double hundred isn’t a big deal there. But here if someone scores a fifty, players, coaches, even the media feel good, said Sohel.

He said they need a more competitive domestic setup for consistent results. Scoring big and doing it again and again is a habit. It’s not like if you score two centuries in one Test, you can’t score in the next one, he added.
