Basit Ali, a former Pakistan cricketer, wants India to decline playing against Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup. He mentioned India’s decision to not participate in the recent World Championship of Legends. Basit thinks playing India will be a big defeat for Pakistan, he mentioned their recent loss to West Indies as an example.
Pakistan’s batting order struggled against West Indies. Top three batsmen were dismissed quickly. Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan, the captain, all failed to score. So it was very hard to win the game.
Pakistani innings was all out in less than 30 overs. Jayden Seales played a great role, took 6 wickets for 18 runs. Pakistani cricket fans and former players were not happy with the team’s performance and big loss. Shoaib Akhtar criticized the batting lineup, saying they can’t always expect ideal batting pitches. Basit Ali went further in his view.
Basit is concerned about the political situation between India and Pakistan. He hopes BCCI will not play against Pakistan in Asia Cup. In an interview on The Game Plan YouTube channel, Basit said if they don’t play, Pakistan will be saved from a big defeat. He thinks India will beat Pakistan so badly it’s unimaginable.

Pakistan’s performance in recent ODI deserves criticism. But Asia Cup will be played in T20 format where Pakistan has done better recently.

Asia Cup will be played in UAE, it’s a warm up event for T20 World Cup next year. India and Sri Lanka will co host that tournament.
