Yashasvi Jaiswal, currently India’s number one Test batsman according to the ICC rankings, will be playing for West Zone in the 2025 Duleep Trophy. So he will be on the field for the Shardul Thakur-led West Zone team in their semifinal match. The match is scheduled to be played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground B in Bengaluru from September 4th to 7th.
Looking ahead to the domestic season, Jaiswal has a chance to make a record. He can get his name in the history books. So far in the four Duleep Trophy matches he’s played for India B and West Zone, Jaiswal has scored 536 runs in seven innings. If he scores a double century this year, he’ll be the first player to score three double centuries in the Duleep Trophy.

Currently six players have scored two double centuries in the Duleep Trophy. These players are Arun Lal, Lalchand Rajput, Dinesh Mongia, Yuvraj Singh, Manish Pandey and Jaiswal.
Arun Lal was the first to achieve this feat. He scored 214 and 287 runs for East Zone in the 1986 tournament. Lalchand Rajput joined this group with 275 runs for West Zone against Central Zone in 1987. Rajput’s first double century, 221 runs for West Zone, was against North Zone in 1985.
Dinesh Mongia scored his two double centuries, 201 and 208 runs for North Zone in the 2001 Duleep Trophy. Yuvraj Singh scored 209 and 208 runs for North Zone in 2002 and 2012, respectively.

Manish Pandey, a Karnataka batter who never played Test cricket for India, scored 218 runs for South Zone against Central Zone in 2011. He also scored 213 runs for Central Zone against West Zone in 2013.
Jaiswal scored 228 runs from 321 balls in the quarterfinal match against North East Zone in Chennai between September 8th and 11th. Later he scored 265 runs from 323 balls in the final match against South Zone in Coimbatore from September 21st to 25th.Jaiswal is the fastest Indian to reach 2000 Test runs. In the recent series against India he scored 412 runs. He scored a century (101) in the first innings of the first Test and a century (118) in the second innings of the fifth Test.
