Mandeep Singh, a seasoned player in Indian domestic cricket, has left Tripura. His stint with the team was short lived as he only played for a year, during the 2024-25 season.
During that season, Mandeep was the captain of Tripura in all formats. He played 6 Ranji Trophy matches, 6 Vijay Hazare Trophy matches and 7 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches. Though Tripura didn’t make it to the knockout stage in any of these tournaments, Mandeep had a good individual season.
In Ranji Trophy, he scored 124* and had 5 scores above 50. He got 50+ in all his matches. He had 3 fifties in Vijay Hazare Trophy, his highest being 94 against Bengal. In Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the main domestic T20 tournament, he added 2 more scores above 50.

Mandeep posted on Instagram, Thanks Tripura CA for the opportunity to play last season. I enjoyed my time there and made some great memories on and off the field. Hope the team does well next season. Excited for what’s next”
Mandeep moved to Tripura in 2024 after playing 15 years for Punjab. With Punjab, he won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2023-24. That was a big deal as it was the team’s first title in that tournament in 30 years. It’s not clear yet which team Mandeep will join for 2025-26 season.
In other news, Indian batter Hanuma Vihari is moving from Andhra to Tripura for next season. Andhra CA has given the 31-year-old a No-Objection Certificate, which allows him to make the move. Vihari has played 16 Tests for India and 131 First-Class matches. But he hasn’t been given the captaincy of Tripura yet.
Tripura will be playing in Elite division of both red and white ball cricket in 2025-26. They start their season with a Ranji Trophy match against Services on October 15. So the team and its fans are looking forward to that match.
