Bumrah is known as a go-to bowler in cricket, especially in T20s. He’s famous for his accurate yorkers and smart pace changes which makes it tough for batsmen to score. But everyone has bad days and Jasprit Bumrah is no different. He has had expensive spells in T20Is too, proving he’s human after all.
Here are his 5 Worst Bowling Performances in T20Is:
1. 0/50 against Australia in Hyderabad, 2022
Bumrah’s worst T20I performance was in Hyderabad against Australia in 2022. He wasn’t at his best during that series due to injuries and form issues. In the final match Australian batsmen Cameron Green and Tim David were too good for him. He gave 50 runs in 4 overs and was nowhere near his best.
2. 2/47 against West Indies in Lauderhill, 2016
The match between West Indies and India in Lauderhill, Florida in 2016 will be remembered. Indian bowlers were hit hard by the West Indian openers as they chased a record total. Bumrah was also on the receiving end, gave 47 runs in 4 overs and took 2 wickets. It’s still his second most expensive spell in T20Is. India lost that game by a narrow margin.
3. 0/45 against New Zealand in Hamilton, 2020
Bumrah had a rare bad day at Seddon Park in Hamilton during the 2020 T20I series against New Zealand. While defending 179 in the third match he was expensive especially when Kane Williamson was batting. He ended up with 0 for 45 in his 4 overs. New Zealand almost won but India forced a Super Over and won in the end.
4. 0/45 against Pakistan in Dubai, 2025
Another instance was in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match against Pakistan in Dubai. Bumrah didn’t take any wickets and gave 45 runs in 4 overs. Pakistan attacked him from the first over itself which is rare to see. It was definitely an unusual day for one of the best bowlers in the world.
5. 1/43 against Australia in Sydney, 2016
In his third T20I against Australia in Sydney in 2016 he gave 43 runs in 4 overs and took 1 wicket. He was just starting his career and had a tough day. Even greats have a bad start.
