Rohit Sharma, one of India’s biggest stars, was recently handed a special memento by CEAT for his role in leading India to victory in the Champions Trophy 2025. The trophy was awarded during the 27th edition of the CCR Awards launched in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The occasion, presented by CEAT Tyres, paid tribute to feats of cricketing excellence from India and the rest of the world over the last year.
Rohit Sharma took the spotlight in the function itself. The 38-year-old captain received this award from the IPC Hall of Famer Sunil Gavaskar for his services leading India to Champions Trophy triumph earlier this year in Dubai when India defeated New Zealand in the final. It was his second ICC trophy as captain, having previously captained India to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados.

It must have been interesting for Rohit to receive this award, given that he was recently superseded as India’s ODI captain by Shubman Gill for the forthcoming Australia series. Nevertheless, Rohit and senior player Virat Kohli remain in the squad and are scheduled for a return to international cricket after their Champions Trophy win.
The CEAT Awards was a starry event, with many top players present, including Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, and Varun Chakravarthy. One international star from New Zealand and another from South Africa, Kane Williamson and Temba Bavuma, received their awards for outstanding performance and leadership.
Indian star players Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma were honoured as the Women’s Batter and Bowler of the Year but could not attend as they are taking part in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. Here’s a complete list of winners from the 27th CEAT Cricket Awards.
