The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 is going to be a grand spectacle. Every one of the eight squads is die-hard wanting to get the shiny trophy.
And that is not the only thing they will take along. The championship of the World Cup brings with it a considerable salary.
The ICC has announced an enormous award for the 13th edition, accumulating a whopping 297 per cent compared to the 2022 event!
Thus, what’s the total award money available in the Women’s World Cup 2025?
A considerable amount of USD 13.88 million (around INR 123 crores) will be the sharing prize money of the eight squads. This amount is more than what the 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup offered as prize money. The men’s tournament prize pool was USD 10 million.
What will the Winners get?
Unquestionably, the champions will, above all, get the major part. Besides, the title of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 they’ll bring in USD 4.48 million. This is about INR 39.7 crores.
The amount given to the winner has flown high by 239 percent and the 2022 champion has got USD 1.32 million.
What About the Second-Placed?
The amount allotted to them has also gone up by 273 percent. The second-placed team in the 2025 Women’s World Cup will get USD 2.24 million (approx. INR 19.8 crore), which is a rise from the previous edition’s offer of USD 600,000.
Will the losing semi-finalists also get some money?
Yes, indeed. Even though the semi-finalists will be experiencing the heartbreak of falling just short of the final, they will at least have some consolation.
Each of the two losing semi-finalists will receive USD 1.12 million (approx. INR 9.9 crores). This amount has a 273 percent rise compared to the last edition where the losing semi-finalists were given USD 300,000 each.
And what about the remaining four teams?
The four teams finishing at the bottom will also get their portion out of the total prize money. The teams that emerge fifth and sixth will each get USD 700,000 (approx. INR 6.2 million). The last two teams will each get USD 280,000 (approx. INR 2.48 million).
Moreover, that is not everything. Each group will have more income to report.
What? Right, a guaranteed amount of USD 250,000 (around INR 2.2 crore) will be given to every team as a tournament participation fee. Besides, every victory in the group stage will increase their total prize money by USD 34,314 (around INR 30.4 lakh).
