England will tour Australia for a lip-smacking Ashes series in 2025-26. Cricket Australia (CA) announced the schedule for the same, with the Ashes 2025-26 starting on November 21, 2025.
The series will get underway in Perth before moving to Brisbane for the second Test on December 4. Adelaide will host the third match on December 17, while the Boxing Day Test will take place at the MCG on December 26. The last match will be played at the SCG on January 4, 2026.
The Ashes 2025-26 will be part of the next World Test Championship (WTC) cycle and carry significant weight in both team’s quest to clinch the Test mace.

Previous Ashes Result
England hosted the last edition of the Ashes in June and July 2023. It was a thrilling five-match series, as it ended 2-2.
Australia had started the series by winning the first two matches at Birmingham and Lord’s, respectively. But the home side made a comeback and won the third and fifth Tests, with the fourth ending in a draw.
Even though the series ended in a draw, Australia retained the Ashes four editions in a row.

Australia and England played for the first time in Ashes in 1882. The two teams had faced off against each other before that in the longer format. But those matches weren’t part of the Ashes.

Over the years, the Ashes has seen many legendary players dish out solid performances.
Among batters, Don Bradman is the highest run-scorer for Australia, with 5028 runs in 37 matches at an astounding average of 89.78. For England, Jack Hobbs tops the run chart with 3636 runs in 41 matches at an average of 54.26.
Bradman has also smashed the most centuries in the Ashes history. He scored a record 19 tons in the compelling series between 1928 and 1948.
Speaking of bowlers, the legendary leg spinner Shane Warne leads the pack for Australia. He remained five shy of the 200 mark, picking up 195 wickets in 36 Tests at an average of above 23.
Stuart Broad, who retired from Test cricket after the 2023 Ashes, heads the wicket-taking chart for England, with 153 scalps in 40 matches.
