As the Asia Cup 2025 comes to the UAE, everyone’s watching Bangladesh. They’ve shown a lot of promise in T20 cricket but haven’t had a big tournament yet. With Litton Das as captain, the Tigers are coming into this year with a new, young team that has potential and purpose. The conditions in Abu Dhabi, where all their group games will be, will really suit them, especially with spin and pace.
One of Bangladesh’s best things about this tournament is how well-balanced their team is. In the past they either depended too much on older players or didn’t have enough firepower at the end. But this time the team looks well constructed. They have a good mix in their bowling, some hitters in the batting line up and players who can do both. The selectors have given opportunities to young players but have also made sure there’s experience in key positions.

The spin attack looks strong with Nasum Ahmed, Rishad Hossain and Shak Mahedi Hasan. They have a good mix of left-arm, wrist and off-spin which is perfect for the dry pitches in the UAE. In slow conditions where wickets in the middle overs are important, this group can hold runs and take wickets. Plus they have a pace attack led by Taskin Ahmed who’s back in form and Mustafizur Rahman who’s always reliable. Bangladesh looks good to handle both powerplay and death overs. Shoriful Islam with his left-arm angle and aggression adds even more to the seam attack.
On the batting side Litton Das will be key to the team’s success. He’ll open and lead the innings with his calm and calculated style. He’ll probably be joined by Tanzid Hasan whose aggressive approach can take advantage of fielding restrictions early on. The middle order will have players like Tawhid Hridoy, Parvez Hossain Emon and Jaker Ali Anik who can steady the ship or speed things up as needed. With players like Mahedi Hasan and Shaif Uddin who can score quickly and bowl useful overs, Bangladesh’s lower middle order looks better than before.
