Okay so the Asia Cup 2025 is around the corner and everyone is wondering what Pakistan’s team will look like. Word is they are sending a team with a mix of young blood and experienced players all under the leadership of Salman Ali Agha. The whole thing is happening in the UAE and Pakistan is hoping to show they are still a force to be reckoned with in the region and play some exciting cricket along the way.
Let’s talk about batting. Pakistan is looking to come out swinging with Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub opening. Both are lefties and aren’t afraid to go for it so those first few overs should be interesting. Then you have Fakhar Zaman at number three, a guy who knows how to build an innings but can also put his foot on the gas when needed.
Next up is Mohammad Haris the wicketkeeper-batsman at number four. He’s known for his aggressive style and wanting to shake things up. Hasan Nawaz, a young hitter might slot in at number five to beef up that middle order. And of course Captain Salman Ali Agha at number six brings some smarts and a cool head to the game also he can bowl a bit of off-spin.
Now the all-rounders are Mohammad Nawaz, Khushdil Shah and Faheem Ashraf. These guys are super important because they can contribute with both bat and ball. This gives the team more flexibility.
Looking at the fast bowlers, Shaheen Afridi is leading the charge. He’s seriously quick and knows how to swing it. Then there’s Haris Rauf who’s excellent at the end of an innings when you need someone to bowl accurately under pressure. As for spin it’ll probably be either Abrar Ahmed the mystery spinner or Sufyan Moqim a young talent depending on what the pitch is like.
Here’s Pakistan’s schedule for the Asia Cup 2025:
- September 12: vs Oman in Dubai
- September 14: vs India in Dubai
- September 17: vs UAE in Dubai
We want to get through these group matches and make it to the Super Four where things will get serious. The final is on September 28 in Dubai and Pakistan will definitely be there to fight for the trophy.
The Probable XI will be:
Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris (wicketkeeper), Hasan Nawaz, Salman Ali Agha (captain), Mohammad Nawaz, Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf.
Overall this team has a good mix of youth, experience and brains. With Salman Ali Agha at the helm Pakistan can make a big impact at the Asia Cup 2025. Here’s hoping!
