The Buchi Babu Tournament 2024 is the domestic tournament of India that features different domestic teams to feature in the Red ball test cricket formatted game. This tournament is similar to the Ranji Trophy and will provide the non famous yet talented young players with a platform to be part of the big famous leagues and get recognised at a national level.
The tournament began on 15th August and will continue playing till September 11, 2024. The tournament was once put to a halt but made a comeback last year. This edition of the tournament will see 12 teams competing in the tournament league stages, followed by the knockout season. The league stage of the Buchi Babu Tournament 2024 was played in a total of three rounds that would take place in Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Salem, and Natham.

A total of 12 teams are participating in the Buchi Babu tournament for the 2024 season where they will face each other in the three different rounds. Performance of each team is noted down on the points table and is mentioned on the points table. with each team performance noted down as win, lost, matches played and their corresponding net run rate. Based on the points table standings the top four teams will clash in the semi finals for the year 2024 and then the two winners will get into the finals.

The tournament will follow a round robin format that is followed by the playoffs or knockouts. The teams will first face each other in the three rounds of the league stage then the toppers of each group will come for a head to head battle in the playoffs of the season, where the Group A and Group B table topper will play against one another in the first semi final and Group C and D will play against the another in the semi-final 2.The Winner would carve a special name and would be recorded as the season winner.
