India vs Pakistan: Latest Updates
Pakistan’s opener, Fakhar Zaman, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Champions Trophy 2025. Zaman had recently returned to the side in place of Saim Ayub, who also suffered an injury in late 2024.
The left-hand opener faced an injury during the opening match against New Zealand. He felt some discomfort in his oblique muscles after he fielded a ball near the boundary ropes.
Now Pakistan have brought in Imam-ul-Haq as Zaman’s replacement for the rest of the tournament.

India vs Pakistan: Best Players
As always, India will bank on two of their finest batters – Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Both batters have had a tough time recently, but they are expected to step up against Pakistan, as they did in the past.
Kohli, especially, has performed at his best against Pakistan in major events. And we can expect the same in the upcoming matches.
Sharma will look to provide India with a fiery start along with his opening partner, Shubman Gill. India’s current vice-captain, Gill, is in some good form, having slammed two centuries this year already.
Alongside that, India’s bowling unit has received a boost after Mohammed Shami’s return from injury. The pacer has returned to action with a fifer against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy.
Apart from him, all eyes will be on Harshit Rana, who has thus far impressed with his consistent performances. He can hit the deck hard while bowling at a good pace.
Speaking of Pakistan, they have a dashing batter in Babar Azam. Right now, the right-hander is off-colour, but it’s just a matter of time before he turns things around.
Azam has been their leading run-getter across formats since 2020, along with new skipper Mohammad Rizwan. Rizwan has produced some good knocks of late while soaking up the pressure.
On the bowling front, the pace trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah are troubling opposition batters. They are extracting good pace, bounce, and swing to send batters packing. Pakistan will expect the trio to deliver in these most-anticipated clashes.
