Delhi Capitals (DC) is one of the few teams that is searching for their first title despite playing since 2008. Apart from playing a final in 2020 and playoffs in 2008, 2009, 2012, and 2019, the teams’ performance hasn’t been up to the mark. Ahead of the upcoming IPL 2025, they have built a decent squad. Without further ado, let’s have a look at four players who will definitely grab a place in the playing XI.
Four overseas players who might play for Delhi Capitals
1. Jake-Fraser McGurk
Australia opening batter made his debut for the 2020 finalists last year. He replaced David Warner in the playing XI and played nine games for the team. The right-hander hit 330 runs striking at 234.04 and averaging 36.66 including a fifty. The Capitals managed to bring him back from the player auction which makes him certain to open the batting again.
2. Tristan Stubbs
The middle-order batter from South Africa was among the retained players ahead of the auction. Since the IPL 2024, his bowling as a part timer has improved and his batting was never under question. Stubbs is certain to play as a middle order batter in the team.
3. Mitchell Starc
The IPL 2024 winner with Kolkata Knight Riders is now part of the Capitals. Even though he had a middling season with the ball, he brings a reputation of being a strike bowler. His addition to the team means that he will bowl two overs in the powerplay and two in the slog overs.
