The last two seasons weren’t great, the team missed the top four both times. Delhi started the 2025 IPL season well but faded. Hemang Badani will try to fix that.

He is known for his accurate bowling and brings a lot of experience, working with head coach Hemang Badani and director of cricket Venugopal Rao. Gnaneswara Rao has been with the Capitals, played for India Capitals in the Legends League and coached for the ILT20 title-winning Dubai Capitals. He played 23 T20 matches, scored 429 runs with a strike rate of 123.98 and was with Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011.
Anton Roux, a former South African player, helps young players grow and has plenty of coaching experience. He was previously the Proteas’ Bowling Coach and Sri Lanka’s Fielding Coach.
Assistant Coach: Mathew Mott

Delhi Capitals have hired Mathew Mott as assistant coach. The former Australian left-handed batter will be with Director of Cricket Venugopal Rao, Head Coach Hemang Badani and Bowling Coach Munaf Patel. Mott, 52, played for Queensland and Victoria for over a decade before coaching in 2007. After coaching New South Wales from 2007 to 2011 and Glamorgan County Cricket Club from 2011 to 2013, Mott became Head Coach of the Australian Women’s Cricket Team in 2015. He led them to two T20 World Cup titles in 2018 and 2020, one ODI World Cup in 2022, four Ashes series wins and a 26-match ODI winning streak. From 2022 to 2024 Mott coached the England Men’s white-ball team and led them to their second T20 World Cup win in 2022. |
