After two brilliant seasons, Gujarat Titans (GT) had a poor run in IPL 2024. Shubman Gill took up the mantle after Hardik Pandya’s departure, which affected their overall performance last season.
But now, Gill, with a season’s captaincy experience, will look to turn the tables. The Titans have rejuvenated their squad this season by bringing in a lot of reliable players.

GT Strongest Playing XI for IPL 2025
Openers: Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler
GT’s skipper will have the dual responsibility of getting the team off to a good start. Gill has been a consistent performer in the league for the last five seasons.
He will pair up with a new partner in Jos Buttler. After seven seasons with Rajasthan Royals, Buttler will be seen in GT’s colours this season. The right-hand batter is a trustworthy opener.
Middle Order: Sai Sudharsan, Glenn Phillips, Shahrukh Khan, Washington Sundar, Rahul Tewatia
GT will have a deep batting lineup. A calm and steady Sai Sudharsan will play a crucial role at No. 3. He can bat deeper and help his side get big totals on the board.
Glenn Phillips, the most dynamic player, can be a game-changer for GT. He can contribute in every department while also being a gun fielder.
GT have shown their faith in Shahrukh Khan’s batting abilities for one more season. He can make a huge impact with his aggressive knocks.
Then, Washington Sundar can come in handy with his spin bowling and batting. Rahul Tewatia is also on the same line, though he hasn’t bowled a lot in the last three seasons. But we can’t ignore his finishing skills.
Bowlers: Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna
As usual, Rashid Khan will spearhead their spin department. The Afghani had an underpar outing last season, but he is an instant lock in any T20 setup. Plus, Rashid is a hard-hitter with the bat.
GT will have a new pace attack in place. Kagiso Rabada will be their automatic pick, given his past performances in the IPL.
Mohammed Siraj will control things from the other end, along with Prasidh Krishna. Krishna is a tall bowler who can extract good bounce and pace.

R. Sai Kishore will be on GT’s impact players list. Sai Kishore offers left-arm spin, which Gujarat would like to use during their bowling turn.
