The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be meeting in the 61st match of the IPL 2025 season. The Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow will witness some great cricketing action. LSG, led by Rishabh Pant, is placed seventh on the points table, having won five matches out of eleven. It’s a difficult position, competing with MI and DC for a playoff spot.
MI will be at 14 points and DC, 13; on May 21, these two will clash at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The winner will have more than 14 points. For LSG to retain its playoff hopes, it must win all three remaining games, edging to a total of 16 points, and MI and DC must be below 16 points.

If MI manages one more win, that team will also be at 16 points, subjecting LSG’s fate to NRR. Currently, MI has an NRR of +1.156, while LSG’s is -0.469, which means even if LSG manages victories, a MI win will shove them out.
LSG fans hope for MI to lose their matches against DC and PBKS, as well as for PBKS to defeat the Capitals. That would be LSG’s best shot at being the sole team at 16 points and to secure a playoff spot. If they drop even one match, they’re gone; however, they won’t dwell on the other matches that don’t affect their fate-one is CSK vs RR and the other is RCB vs SRH, etc.
