Kagiso Rabada’s impressive outings for South Africa resulted in him bagging a deal in the lucrative IPL with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). The fast bowler made his IPL debut representing Delhi against Mumbai Indians on April 22, 2017, in Mumbai.
Rabada had a bit of an expensive outing as a bowler, conceding 30 runs while taking a wicket. But he also showed his batting temperament, scoring 44 runs while walking in to bat in the seventh over. This remains his best batting performance in the IPL to date.
Rabada further played five more matches in the season, adding five more wickets to his tally.

Performance in IPL 2024
Kagiso Rabada put up an average performance for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2024 season. The South African featured in 11 games before pulling out of the season due to an injury.
Rabada managed to pick up 11 wickets in as many games at an average of 33.82. His best performance came against Rajasthan Royals in match No. 27, where he took two wickets for 18 runs.

Kagiso Rabada played his last match of the IPL 2024 on May 5, 2024, in Dharamsala. On that day, PBKS took on Chennai Super Kings.

A young Kagiso Rabada delivered sensational spells in international cricket, leading to getting himself an IPL deal. The pacer made his way to Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) camp for INR 5 crore ahead of the 2017 season.
The franchise released Rabada ahead of the 2018 mega auction only to be bought back again for INR 4.2 crore. But he missed the 2018 IPL edition owing to an injury.
Rabada made a comeback in 2019, scalping 25 wickets in 12 innings while playing for Delhi. He was Delhi’s tormentor till 2021, spearheading their pace attack from the front.
