Mumbai Indians (MI) have been blessed with some of the best batters in IPL history. The five-time champions have had the services of Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav, to name a few.
And these are the batters who have been the strongest pillars of the Mumbai-based franchise. They have been crucial to turning MI into the powerful force they are now known for.
And here we’ll look at the top five batters who have scored the most runs for MI in the IPL.
5. Sachin Tendulkar | 2599 Runs
You simply can’t keep this man out of any record books. Sachin Tendulkar, who played only one T20I game, featured in the IPL 78 times, all for his home side Mumbai Indians.
Tendulkar was in sublime touch in the T20 league. He even won the Orange Cap in 2010 as he scored 618 runs in 15 innings.
Tendulkar scored his only IPL century in 2011 before he bid adieu with the trophy in 2013. The right-hand batter scored 2599 runs, including a hundred and 14 fifties.
4. Ambati Rayudu | 2635 Runs

The top-order batter scored 250+ runs in seven of the eight seasons. In all, Rayudu netted 2635 runs in 127 innings before he moved to Chennai Super Kings in 2018.
3. Suryakumar Yadav | 3110 Runs
Suryakumar Yadav made his IPL debut with MI back in 2012, though he played only one match that season. Then he moved to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from 2014 to 2017, where he had average outings.
But since his return to MI in 2018, Surya hasn’t disappointed with the bat. After his homecoming, the 360-degree batter has scored 300+ runs in each season, showcasing his consistency.
His consistency has helped him surpass 3000 runs for MI, making him the third Mumbai batter to cross the milestone. In all, Surya has accumulated 3110 runs in 100 matches.
2. Kieron Pollard | 3915 Runs
An MI legend, Kieron Pollard, sits at No. 2 on this list. The Caribbean batter lit up the tournament with his ferocious striking in blue and gold.
Pollard hammered 3915 runs in 219 innings while mostly batting lower down the order. His late finishes often proved crucial as MI pipped their opponent by tight margins.
Pollard struck at a good strike rate of 147.01 while adding 16 half-centuries to his name.
1. Rohit Sharma | 5739 Runs
Rohit Sharma has scored the most runs for MI in IPL history. The former MI captain has plundered 5739 runs in 223 matches, with no other batter in close sight.
The right-hand opener has also scored two centuries and 36 fifties in his 15 years with the franchise. Sharma has often provided them with solid starts while batting with different partners.
Under his leadership, Mumbai lifted the IPL title five times from 2013 to 2020. Now he is looking to add more runs and, of course, the trophies to his tally.
