Ravindra Jadeja has everything that a T20 team demands from a player. He is a complete all-rounder who performs across all departments on the field.
Jadeja can bowl quick spells and bat in the lower order. And there’s hardly anyone as good as him while fielding.

Ravindra Jadeja IPL Debut
Before becoming a CSK stalwart, Ravindra Jadeja made his debut for Rajasthan Royals (RR) back in 2008. He featured in a match against Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) on April 19, 2008.
Jadeja top-scored for RR in that match, accumulating 29 off 23 to help post a modest 129 runs on the board. But he didn’t bowl at all in the match.
Overall, Jadeja scored 135 runs in nine innings and bowled in only two innings without taking a wicket in his debut season.

Ravindra Jadeja Performance in IPL 2024
In IPL 2024, Ravindra Jadeja delivered a mixed performance. His batting credentials were decent, as he scored important knocks. But with the ball, the left-arm spinner was below average.
Jadeja amassed 267 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 142.78, including four 30+ scores. The all-rounder bowled in all 14 innings but managed to pick up only eight wickets.
Ravindra Jadeja Last IPL Match
Ravindra Jadeja’s last IPL outing came against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 18, 2024. It was an important match for both teams, with a playoff spot in contention.
But Jadeja had a disastrous day with the ball, conceding 40 runs without taking a wicket. He somehow tried to make up for the damage by scoring an unbeaten 42 off 22 in a failed run chase.

Ravindra Jadeja IPL Auction Price & History
Ravindra Jadeja entered the IPL back in 2008. Rajasthan Royals bought him at INR 12 lakhs in the 2008 auction.
In 2011, Jadeja moved to the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala franchise for INR 4.37 crore. But in the next season, CSK snapped up the all-rounder for INR 9.2 crore.
After his decent turnouts, CSK retained Jadeja at INR 5.5 crore ahead of the 2014 season. In 2016, he joined Gujarat Lions for two seasons in CSK’s absence due to a ban. Gujarat increased his salary to INR 9.50 crore for the 2017 season.
After CSK served the ban period, Jadeja was back to the franchise at INR 7 crore in 2018. Before the 2022 season, Jadeja’s salary shot to INR 16 crore as he captained them till midway before Dhoni took back the captaincy.
Now, ahead of IPL 2025, he was their top retention, along with Ruturaj Gaikwad, at INR 18 crore.
