Records to look forward to in LSG vs MI clash.
Mumbai Indians have seen it all this season: three losses and just one win against the Lucknow Super Giants. But if history is anything to go by, here’s one more win on the cards this coming Sunday. This team believes in evolving when it comes to the hard stakes, hoping that this will be the third straight win from home-the Wankhede Stadium-where they have gotten Lucknow on two occasions without being lucky.
It doesn’t end there though; it will be fans glued to the screen not just to see if Mumbai can turn things around against Lucknow but also to see players coming towards major milestones.
4000 runs for Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav-the vice captain of Mumbai-is 33 runs from a massive landmark: 4,000 runs in the Indian Premier League. So far, he has made 3,967 runs at an average of 33.61 and has a strike rate of 147.08, with two centuries and 26 half-centuries. With those 33 runs, he will be the 17th player to reach this benchmark and the 13th Indian to do so.
300 sixes for Rohit Sharma
Then there is Rohit Sharma, another former captain of the team, who is close to the fantastic landmark of 300 sixes in the league. He just needs five more to reach this mark. Having regained touch in the past couple of games, he has a fair chance of becoming the second player to reach this milestone after the phenomenal Chris Gayle, who has 357 sixers to his credit.
150 sixes for Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar is also on track to achieve yet another record as he will become the first to hit 150 sixes in 145 innings of an IPL career if he hits one more six. Not too shabby!
200 fours for Hardik Pandya
Next up is Hardik Pandya, required two more fours to reach a career total of 200 in T20 cricket. Some 150 sixes this season are also possible for MI’s skipper.
150 sixes for Nicholas Pooran
And lastly comes Nicholas Pooran of the Super Giants. He needs just six more fours to complete 150 in his IPL career. After recent performances, it can be highly expected of him to hit those six fours in a single match. He has even crossed the 150 sixes mark this season, so he knows how it’s done.
So as the matchup approaches, all eyes will be on these players and their desires fulfilled in terms of personal achievements while fans just hope to see their team come out on top.
