Mai Yanagida: Yanagida leads the team and is the engine of the Japanese outfit. Her leadership skills and ball control are pivotal for the side as she dictates it being the captain. Apart from that, she also gets runs in the middle order when required.
Erika Oda:
A dependable wicketkeeper-batsman, Oda is the one who keeps the innings together when needed. Behind the stumps, she is a sharp one and fully capable of putting together a very good fielding unit.
Akari Kano: Akari Kano represents the technically sound and mature batsman. Her calmness helps Japan in setting a platform for the middle order.
Akino Ueda: Akino’s style is pretty attacking and she also excels in good fielding outfield. She can sometimes accelerate the innings.
Nonoha Yasumoto: She is a young emerging all-rounder who brings flexibility to the team with her batting and bowling. Considered as one of the rising stars of Japan.
Yuka Ogata: Ogata is one of the main fast bowlers in Japan. Her ability to swing the ball early can lead to crucial breakthroughs with the new ball.
Minami Yoshioka: An unusual spin option in Japan’s arsenal, Yoshioka is on the economical side and effective through the middle overs, where she is notorious for breaking partnerships.
Hinase Goto: Goto adds some depth to the team as an all-rounder. She can do her bit with both bat and ball and just adds a bit of balance to the team’s lower middle order.
Japan 2025 EAP Challenge
A combination of experience and youth gives the Japan Women’s squad a lot of energy entering the Qualifier. The big balls are bowled by Ogata and Yoshioka, and the batting looks mainly towards Mai Yanagida and Oda; the Japanese team hopes to use this erratic mixture and wreak havoc on higher-ranked opponents at the 2025 East Asia Pacific Qualifier. They are going to focus on discipline, teamwork, and taking those crucial few moments needed for qualification to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
