1. AL Valentine- 49
A West Indies cricketer, Alf Valentine, is still remembered for the most maiden overs in a Test innings at Nottingham in July 1950. In a historical Test match between the West Indies and England, he delivered 49 maiden overs, conceding no runs while maintaining his economy rate (1.52) with 3 dismissals to his name. West Indies won the match by 10 wickets. He left the world with a monumental record at the age of 74 in 2004.
2. MH Mankad- 47
Vinoo Mankad, who represented India from 1946 to 1959 in his international career, is a famous bowler with second second-highest maiden overs. He threw 47 overs without conceding runs against England in Delhi in November 1951. His contribution was immense in forcing the match to result in a draw, as his economy rate (0.76) was terrific. He died at the age of 61 years in 1978.
3. AL Valentine- 47
Alf Valentine clinched 47 maiden overs in June 1950 at Lord’s in London during a Test match between England and the West Indies. He also departed three batters during his long spells. West Indies won the match by 326 runs.
4. S Ramadhin- 43
Sonny Ramadhin, a West Indies bowler, delivered 43 maiden overs to his team. His international career lasted from 1950 to 1961, and he died at the age of 92 years in 2022. His tight spells, conceding runs at the rate of 1.19, propelled the West Indies to register victory over England at Lord’s in 1950.

5. TR Veivers- 3
With 36 maiden overs in a single Test innings, Tom Veivers (Australia) was active in his international career for a span of only four years from 1963 to 1967. However, he recorded his name in history as a right-arm off-break bowler in July 1964 during a Test match between Australia and England in Manchester. Thanks to his precise bowling, the match ended as a draw.
