The 17th edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 is set to commence from 23rd September to 15 December 2024. Organized by the BCCI, the domestic T20 cricket league was named after former Test cricketer Syed Mushtaq Ali.
Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is the annual T20 Tournament originally known as the Inter-State T20 Championship. Currently, 38 Ranji Trophy-contested senior state teams will face each other for one of the most prestigious domestic trophies.
The tournament will take place in multiple cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ranchi, Mohali, and Dehradun. The 2023 Syed Mustafa Ali Trophy winner is Punjab who defeated Baroda by 20 runs in the final.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy starting date?
The 2024–25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is scheduled to be held on 23 November which concludes on 15 December 2024. The BCCI has released the schedule for the upcoming 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament, although venues for all the matches have yet to be announced.
Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024: Format
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a Domestic T20 Cricket League played by the Ranji Trophy Teams. The format of the league starts with 5 elite groups containing 8 or 7 teams in each. Each group plays a round-robin stage with the top-ranked teams in each group qualifying for the knockout stage along with the three best runners-up. The knockout stage contains two Pre quarter-finals, 4 quarter-finals, 2 semi-finals, and a final match. There will be 136 total matches played in the 2024 Syed Mustafa Ali Trophy including each group’s league match, 2 Pre Quarter Final, 4 Quarter Final, 2 semifinals, and one final game.
