The stage is all set to witness smashing boundaries and skyrocketing sixes as the ICC Mens T20 World Cup begins on 2 June 2024. This World Cup is the ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 and a total of 20 nations will be participating in it with a total of 55 matches at the host grounds of the USA and the Caribbean land.
Scotland has been part of the T20 World Cup six times, beginning in 2007. They won no games in their first appearances in 2007 and 2009. But finally lifted the coveted trophy in the year 2016 competing against Hong Kong. In 2021, Scotland had an impressive run by topping their first-round group with wins over Bangladesh, Oman, and Papua New Guinea, but they lost all five matches in the Super 12 phase.
The 2022 competition could have been more successful, but they couldn’t progress past the first round despite a win over the West Indies. Additionally, Scotland has appeared in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers seven times since 2008, achieving their best results by becoming champions in 2015 and 2023.
