India A are preparing to travel to England next month for a series of fascinating matches. They will take on the England Lions in two four-day matches scheduled from 30 May to 2 June and from 6 June to 9 June. Then, from 13th to 16th of June, they’ll face the senior Indian team.
The senior team will have a new captain, to be announced on May 23. Reports suggest that Bengal’s very capable batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran is expected to be the captain of India A. Since Easwaran is not playing in this season’s IPL, he will likely have time for the extra responsibilities that come with leading the team.
The IPL should end late May or early June, allowing Easwaran to start early preparation. It would be remiss not to mention here that the changes might affect the India A tour of England in 2025.
