Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy have really made a name for themselves as key players for the Kolkata Knight Riders over the last few seasons. Now, Andy Flower, the head coach for Bengaluru, knows all too well what kind of trouble KKR’s spin duo can bring to the match. He’s given a nod to the challenge they present but also believes that his team led by Rajat Patidar is ready to step up. Flower described the matchup as an exciting challenge. He pointed out that in this high-stakes league, the best players get the chance to face off against one another. He’s really looking forward to this clash.
“Chakaravarthy is playing really well, and we’ve seen what Narine can do over the years. That’s what makes this game at this level so thrilling – being able to test yourself against some of the best in the world. Plus, there’s something special about playing this top-tier cricket in India with all the energy and excitement that comes with it,” Flower mentioned during the press conference before the match.
Chakaravarthy, who was also present at the press conference, noted that RCB’s superstar batter, Virat Kohli, has had a bit of an upper hand against him in past encounters. He’s pumped up to face Kohli again and hopes to make a mark when they meet on March 22. “I’m definitely excited about going up against Virat. He has done well against me before, but I’m ready for this and I’d like to do better this time,” Chakaravarthy expressed.
