Due to the India-Pakistan geopolitics, the Asia Cup will likely be held at a neutral venue. UAE is the likely destination.
India was supposed to host the tournament. Now it will be played at two venues in UAE and BCCI will be the host.
After the Pahalgam terrorist attack and the India-Pakistan border clashes, media reports said India might pull out of the Asia Cup. BCCI denied it.
PTI reports that in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka, it was decided to play the tournament in UAE. Rajeev Shukla, BCCI vice-president, attended the meeting virtually. The final decision is still pending.
An ACC source told PTI that BCCI will host the Asia Cup in UAE and India will play all its matches in Dubai. Scheduling is still to be decided.
India and Pakistan will be in the same group in the T20I format tournament. So they will play each other at least twice: once in the group stage and again in the Super Six. A third match is possible if both teams reach the final.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said an official announcement about the Asia Cup will be made soon.
Saikia said their vice-president Rajeev Shukla attended the ACC meeting and will update the members and he doesn’t like speculations so information will be available in a few days.
Last time India and Pakistan played each other was in the Champions Trophy in Dubai in a group stage match. Pakistan was supposed to host the tournament but BCCI refused to send its team so a hybrid model was created where India played all its matches including the semifinal and final in Dubai.
