ACC meeting in Dhaka on July 24. Asia Cup future is still uncertain. Will India be there?
Reports say BCCI is not keen to send officials to Dhaka due to political issues in Bangladesh and safety and diplomacy concerns.
But BCB President Aminul Islam is optimistic. He told the media that he expects all member countries, including India, to attend the meeting, either in person or online.
Asian Cricket Council is the supreme body of cricket in Asia and we never hosted such a big meeting before, Aminul Islam told reporters on Monday, according to Cricbuzz.
Bangladesh is hosting such a big meeting for the first time. Aminul Islam said it’s a big achievement and everything is going well for the event which includes an official dinner on July 23.
We will host an official dinner on 23rd and ACC AGM in Dhaka on 24th where almost all countries will be involved, he said. This is a big achievement for us and so far everything is going as expected for hosting the ACC meeting. You will get more updates later.
This ACC meeting is more than just a regular meeting. It’s to finalise the schedule and venues of Asia Cup which is a big event in Asian cricket. Any decision taken here will impact fans, players and broadcasters.
Due to India’s hesitation, there was talk of shifting the meeting from Dhaka to Dubai. But Aminul Islam dismissed the reports and said everything is on track and Dhaka is still the confirmed venue.

Even if BCCI doesn’t send officials in person, sources say India might join the ACC AGM online. This way they can still be part of the key decisions without being in Dhaka.
India’s representatives in the ACC are Rajeev Shukla, BCCI Vice-President and Congress MP, and Ashish Shelar, a key member of the board.
