BCCI will announce India’s Test squad for the West-Indies series soon. According to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, the announcement will be made during the Asia Cup, around September 23rd or 24th.
India, led by Shubman Gill, is playing great cricket in the Asia Cup and is dominating teams led by Suryakumar Yadav. But once that’s over, they will shift their attention to a two-Test series at home against the West Indies, led by Roston Chase.
Saikia said the selection committee will finalise the squad in an online meeting.

A few India players are trying to make a case for themselves.
In the recent game against Australia-A, some players who want to join the Test team played. Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, Narayan Jagadeesan all had good performances while Shreyas Iyer didn’t do well which might make it tough for him to get back in the team.
One question is whether Jasprit Bumrah will get a break for this series. Fast bowlers are not as useful on Indian pitches which help spinners. Also Karun Nair might be in danger of being dropped after not doing well in England so his Test future is in danger.
First Test is from October 2nd to 6th at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Second Test is from October 10th to 14th at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
