Cricket fans around the World are eagerly waiting for the ICC champions trophy 2025 which is going to take place in pakistan from next month. While most of the team have announced their squad for the mega event,the host Pakistan are yet to finalize their team.
However,as per the latest reports Pakistan are going to announce their squad very soon ,the team will be somewhat the same as the team that is going to play against New Zealand and South Africa in the tri series.
As per the sources players like Abdullah Shafique, Sufiyan Muqeem and Abbas Afridi are going to be axed from the champions trophy squad. While Abdullah Shafique is going through a rough patch,the opener scored 3 consecutive ducks against South Africa. On the other hand Sufiyan Muqeem and Abbas Afridi have just played one odi.
Apart from this Pakistan is going to face a massive setback as opener Saim Ayub has failed to recover from the injury as per reports.

Pakistan will have Saud Shakeel and Khushdil Shah as backups in their batting department. While Shakeel has scored 317 runs in 15 ODIs and Khushdil Shah on the other hand has 199 runs in 10 ODIs.
As Saim Ayub is going to miss the ICC champions trophy so there is a high possibility of Fakhar Zaman getting back into the Pakistan ODI setup for the marquee event.
Apart from this Mohmmad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha and Kamran Ghulam will play for Pakistan as the pillars of their batting department.
Shaheen Afridi along with Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf will be addressing the pace department. Abrar Ahmed along with Mohammad Wasim Jr or Hasnain are going to fill in the remaining slots
