In a recent change of events, the cricketer Hardik Pandya, known for his versatility, is recovering and probably will be back from injury soon. A recent report mentions the Indian ace, Pandya, is at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s centre of excellence (CoE) in Bangalore currently.
He is treating the quadriceps injury he sustained during the T20 Asia Cup in the UAE a few months back through a rehabilitation program.
Most importantly, Pandya’s injury happened in the night match against Sri Lanka during the Super-Four games. The star cricketer was seen leaving the field on foot and did not come back for the rest of the game. India was the lucky team to win the match; however, Pandya’s injury made him miss the final against Pakistan. He is also not included in India’s squad that is currently touring Australia.
Hardik Pandya is Going To Be Available for The South Africa Series
The Times of India has cited an official from the BCCI who has been tracking Hardik Pandya’s recovery as saying so. If the news is true, it is going to be the case that Pandy will be there for the next South Africa series (both formats – ODI and T20I). The first ODI of this eagerly awaited series will be played on November 30, 2025.
“After a holiday break, Hardik reported to the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on November 21. He will be at the CoE for a month. He has started his gym sessions and should be back in action during the white-ball series against South Africa at some point.”
It would not be an exaggeration to state that Pandya was missed in the short ODI series against Australia just concluded. India was forced to find another balance and in doing so sacrificed their bowling options to keep the batting depth. There is no question that the return of Hardik will be the perfect balance that India has been missing if he is fit and selected in the squad for the South Africa series.
It might be an understatement to say that the Indian team’s joint one-day international series against Australia was based on the fact that Pandya missed out. The Indian bowlers were efficient but they had to sacrifice their bowling power in order to have a strong batting lineup. In case Hardik is up to the fitness levels and is taken for the South African tour it will be the perfect blend that has been missing for India.
It is very important to point out that at present the Indian team is in Australia where they will have four more T20I matches before coming back home for a multi-format series with South Africa.
